MCoil VTCU · Feron Transformer Core Copper Foil Paper

The MCoil VTCU is our Feron E-core inductor (transformer core) with a copper-foil conductor and paper-based insulator – the powerhouse solution for large inductances at extremely low RDC.

Feron is not standard transformer sheet metal; it is made of grain-oriented silicon iron in a quality grade optimized for minimum losses and distortion: even at small-signal levels, remagnetization losses and fundamental distortion around the zero crossing remain extremely low, and under load saturation sets in very late, so the inductance remains stable even in high-power operation.

The particularly strong magnetic circuit allows very low DC resistances to be realized, enabling maximum control, level stability and dynamics, especially in the bass and lower midrange; power handling is typically beyond 1000 watts, making it ideal for PA applications and other high-power sections.

Together with the paper, the copper foil forms an exceptionally stable winding assembly that further reduces winding vibrations and thus macro-microphony and minimizes energy losses caused by mechanical movement.

As a result, the component remains mechanically “silent” even at very high levels and does not couple any interfering signal components back into the music signal inductively; the sound gains calm, contour and fine dynamics.

The MCoil VTCU is typically mounted in the cabinet and is the consistent choice when uncompromising performance, minimum RDC and maximum mechanical calm are to come together.
