MResist Supreme

MResist Supreme

The M-Resist Supreme is based on a wire-wound construction of the resistive element, but is structurally far more advanced than classic high-load resistors. At its heart is a high-temperature-resistant ceramic body that serves as a dimensionally stable and thermally resilient base. A bifilar winding made of a copper-nickel alloy from the Manganin family is applied to it. In this winding technique, two conductors are wound simultaneously and in opposite directions in such a way that the magnetic fields of the two partial windings largely cancel each other out. This construction greatly reduces the residual inductive component, even though it is a wire resistor.

The conductor material used is characterized by a very low temperature coefficient of ±50 ppm/°C and responds “softer” in terms of material physics than oxide film systems. As a result, its crystal lattice is less prone to micro-microphonic effects and generates lower material-related interference.

After the winding process, the resistor is fixed by hand with a fireproof potting compound. This potting mechanically stabilizes the winding, damps vibrations, and reduces macro-microphonic modulation effects. At the same time, it supports uniform heat distribution under load.

Only non-magnetic materials are used throughout the entire conduction path, and all contacts are welded. This minimizes contact resistances, contact aging, and electromagnetic side effects such as eddy currents or field distortions.

The sum of all this is a resistor that represents the technical and acoustic maximum achievable in the classic cylindrical wire design: high stability under load, very low residual inductance, reduced interference, and particularly neutral, detailed reproduction.
