MCoil BP • Ferrite PipeCore Baked Varnish

The MCoil BP is our ferrite tube-core inductor based on the high-performance ferrite HP3616 – compact, precise and particularly clean for small-signal applications. As a P-core design with a large air gap it offers later-onset saturation and thus considerably more current reserve than a ferrite H-core inductor of the same size, while still remaining space-saving. The R_DC is somewhat higher than that of the H-core version.

The decisive advance over the MCoil P is the baked varnish wire: the turns are bonded into a solid unit, which massively reduces winding vibrations and thus macro-microphony. Less energy is lost in the form of mechanical movement, resulting in more dynamics, greater calm and clearer fine-detail resolution.

Typical fields of application are correction networks, equalizers and dynamic midrange sections down to the transition into the lower midrange. For pure high-current bass duties, careful dimensioning remains essential, since ferrite fundamentally has more limited reserves in terms of saturation flux density than Aronit or Feron.
