MCap Evo

The MCap Evo series arose from the idea of transferring the macro- and micro-microphonic strengths of the Supreme technology into the MCap world – but without the very high material cost of the series-connected double windings. Instead of internal series connection and maximum film thickness, Evo relies on an optimized winding geometry, a macro-microphonically calmed embedding through housing and potting, and micro-microphonically optimized variants. The basic idea remains: maximum calmness and precision – in a compact, material-efficient design.

Electrical characteristics

Evo winding geometry (many narrow windings)

Greatly reduced series inductance (ESL) and homogeneous current distribution across the entire winding surface – the basis for high control and spatial precision.

Polypropylene film

Polypropylene as a dielectric offers low losses, low dielectric absorption and high dielectric strength.

Minimal tolerances

Exact pairing, stable crossover frequencies and very accurate spatial imaging.

Macro-microphony

Potting in the housing with a visco-elastic, acoustically optimized potting compound

Very effective damping of coupled-in airborne and structure-borne sound; vibrations are converted into heat instead of being coupled into the audio signal in the form of interference voltages, where they would degrade the sound.

Optional oil impregnation in the winding

Additional calming of the winding structure deep into its core. The finest relative movements and friction processes are reduced – this stabilizes the stage and keeps the sound image composed and controlled even with complex music and at higher levels.

Sound Character of the Family

The MCap Evo family stands for a very calm, controlled and at the same time musical reproduction. Compared with the MCap Classic, the stage becomes audibly more stable, the focus sharper and the impulse behavior clearer. Voices stand securely in the room, transients appear precise and controlled without tipping into aggressiveness.

The Alu variants offer a clear, structured and modern presentation that is ideally suited as a basis for demanding designs at a high audiophile level. The SilverGold variant adds color, warmth and joy of playing without losing the calmness and control typical of the Evo.

What all Evo types have in common is that they transfer the Supreme principles – macro-microphonic calmness and electrical precision – into a more compact design that is particularly attractive both in price and in space requirements.
