ECap Power

The ECap Power is our entry into demanding power supply for the audio sector. It is at home wherever energy must be provided quickly, stably and without dips – so that the amplifier stage can operate cleanly, in a controlled and dynamic manner at all times. As a baseline series, the ECap Power is based on high-quality industrial-grade stock whose construction is already designed for high currents, stable connections and reliable long-term operation.

Electrical Properties

The ECap Power is designed for stable energy delivery and high load capacity. One type from the series exemplifies this:

  • 100 V / 10,000 µF
    • Typical ESR: 16 mΩ (at 100 Hz, 20 °C)
    • Ripple current: 6.5 A (at 100 Hz, 85 °C)

These figures stand for a low-impedance, high-current design: low losses, high AC load capacity and a supply that does not “sag” even under dynamic load.

Macro-Microphonics

The ECap Power is designed as a massive power capacitor. Its robust construction and the provision for secure fastening support quiet mounting inside the device. This is relevant because strong load changes and mechanical excitation (e.g. from transformers or enclosure vibrations) can otherwise lead to coarse modulations that make themselves felt as a “pumping” of the supply.

Micro-Microphonics

As a baseline series, the ECap Power focuses on reliable, load-stable energy delivery. In practice, the finest modulations depend strongly on the overall system – that is, on placement, conductor routing, additional local support close to the amplifier stage and the mechanical integration. The ECap Power provides a solid foundation for this, on which further audio optimizations can build.

Mechanics & Connection Technology

A central feature is the solid screw terminals. They enable a high-current, low-impedance and permanently stable connection – particularly at high pulse currents and in power supplies with pronounced load steps. At the same time, the mechanical robustness supports secure, low-vibration mounting inside the device.

Lifetime & Reliability

The series is designed for continuous operation and is rated at 8,000 hours at rated ripple current and 85 °C. This long-term specification under clearly defined load conditions is an important quality indicator for stable parameters over the service life – especially in power supplies that operate under load continuously.

Sonic Character

The ECap Power does not aim for “effect sound” but for composure. As a high-quality baseline, it supports a supply that delivers impulses and dynamics cleanly, without giving way under level or transients. The result is a reproduction that manifests itself as control, stability and clean dynamics.
