Car Audio Capacitors

Car Audio Capacitors

In a vehicle, voltage drops arise from cable lengths, contact resistances and the on-board electrical system. For audio components, what matters is that energy is not merely available but arrives at the respective load without delay – otherwise the reproduction loses control, especially on impulses.

The ECap series therefore relies on local energy storage at two typical bottlenecks:

  • HeadCap: in parallel at the car radio/head unit, to stabilize the supply directly at the device.
  • PowerCap: directly at the power amplifier, to buffer the current supply for bass impulses and load peaks locally and to bridge voltage drops across the supply line.

Technical Properties

Electrical properties

Local energy storage at the load

Load peaks are absorbed right where they occur.

Less voltage drop across the cable

The supply remains more stable at the device because not everything has to be delivered “through the cable”.

Fast delivery on impulses

Energy is available immediately at the decisive moment.

Sonic Character

ECap acts as a more stable foundation: more control, more punch, cleaner impulses and a more composed overall impression – especially when the system is driven hard with impulses.

Typical Applications

  • HeadCap: car radio/head unit – stabilize the supply directly at the device
  • PowerCap: power amplifier in remote installation locations – buffer bass impulses locally
  • Systems in which music reproduction is meant to remain stable and controlled under load peaks
