The Mundorf AMT Concert series is our HiFi classic line: it was the first line derived consistently from professional development – and precisely for that reason it stands to this day for a rare overall package of power handling, naturalness and extremely low distortion. From excellent two-way systems to monitor, home-cinema and cinema installations, the goal remains the same: treble should not “glitter” but be solid, controlled and credible – even when things get loud.

Pro DNA as the origin: control instead of treble effect

Concert was not conceived as a “living-room variant” but grew out of a development logic that addresses the toughest requirements first: high target levels, long operating hours, clear localization, clean crossover transitions and a reproduction that does not fatigue even after hours. In home and studio use, this results in a sound that is at once powerful and refined: high transparency, natural timbres and a calmness in the treble that stays relaxed even at high volumes.

Models and role in the product range: AMT19, AMT21, AMT23, AMT25, AMT29

The Concert series comprises – from the AMT19 upwards – the models AMT19, AMT21, AMT23, AMT25 and AMT29 (each in several variants). In this order, the series scales from compact designs for high-quality two-way and three-way concepts up to solutions with maximum reserves for monitor, home-cinema and cinema installations.

• AMT19: the compact entry into the Concert world – ideal when controlled directivity and high quality are required in very compact systems.
• AMT21: more area and reserve than the AMT19 – for demanding two-way and three-way concepts with additional dynamic headroom.
• AMT23: the transitional size within the Concert family; available with both round and rectangular front plates.
• AMT25: the versatile classic of the Concert series; depending on the variant also available as S (Spot) for monitor-style listening conditions, large two-way systems and targeted reach with reduced sidewall reflections.
• AMT29: the high-output variant for maximum reserves and authority – especially as a midrange/treble solution in monitor, home-cinema and cinema installations.

Dispersion as a concept: Concert thinks differently from U

A central feature of the Concert series is the dispersion concept based on diaphragm width. While the U series is consistently designed for W (wide dispersion), the Concert series is typically dominated by M (Medium) – complemented by an S (Spot) variant of the AMT25.

This is a deliberate choice: Concert is meant to control directivity in order to improve precision and reach in large rooms.

• M (Medium) is the typical Concert character: controlled, balanced and very easy to integrate into high-quality living-room and studio concepts.
• S (Spot) on the AMT25 provides stronger horizontal focusing – particularly advantageous when monitor-style listening conditions are desired or when the treble is meant to reach deeper into the room without unnecessarily exciting the side walls. This reduces disturbing reflections, increases directness and supports very precise imaging.

Larger diaphragm areas: tangible level reserves

Compared with typical U diaphragms, the Concert series works – at comparable diaphragm height – with larger diaphragm areas. These areas create tangible level reserves. In practice this means: dynamic leaps sound effortless, transients stay clean, and the reproduction retains its composure even when things get extremely loud.

Proven in the studio – all the way to film post-production

The Concert series is not just home HiFi; it is equally at home in professional monitoring situations. Concert AMTs have been used to build monitor systems deployed all the way to post-production environments in which Hollywood films and international film productions are finished. In such applications, transparency, localization, speech intelligibility and reliability count – over long working days. This is exactly where Concert shows why it is reference class: richness of detail without nervousness and level without harshness.

Home cinema and cinema: level without “obtrusiveness”
