Feron Transformer Core

The DC resistance of the coil is a central sonic factor for bass and root branches because it directly influences control, efficiency and dynamics. The Feron transformer core (E-Core) was developed for exactly this purpose: It uses a very strong magnetic circuit made of grain-oriented silicon-iron and thus achieves extremely low RDC values with high inductance.

In this way, a high inductance can be achieved without the series resistance acting as a brake. At the same time, Feron keeps the core behavior exceptionally clean because losses and core-related distortions are minimized. The high saturation reserve ensures that the inductance remains stable even at high currents and does not drop early.

This is crucial at high levels, because otherwise the filter effect would tip over and compress dynamics. In practice, this means that bass impulses remain tight, controlled and confident, even when there is a lot of power involved. The load capacity is typically above 1000 watts, making this design suitable even for very demanding applications.

Since the size and weight are significant, the transformer core coil is usually mounted in the housing and mechanically fixed in a clean manner. The benefits are also directly effective in parallel branches and correction elements, because additional signal components can reach the loudspeaker — Feron keeps these effects to a minimum.

In short: Feron transformer cores are the uncompromising power solution when minimum RDC and maximum load capacity have priority.

  • E-Core made of Feron: very strong magnetic circuit
  • Large inductors can be realized with extremely low RDC
  • Typical load capacity beyond 1000 watts
  • Very high saturation reserve → stable filter effect under load
  • Case assembly: mechanically clean, field-controlled
