The Supreme Wrapping Technology

A trump card in the world of Macro-Microphony and electrotechnical parameters

In Supreme winding technology, two capacitor coils, each with twice the target capacity, are set up within a winding package and connected in series internally. In order to obtain a capacitor with 1 µF, two coils of 2 µF each are manufactured and connected in series inside the component. The effort involved is considerable – and so is the impact: The Supreme technology combines mechanical calming and electrotechnical optimization in a way that is difficult to achieve with one single wrap.

With respect to Macro-Microphony, the multiplied use of materials leads to higher mass and internal damping. The wrap becomes less responsive to external excitations, natural resonances are significantly attenuated, and larger-scale movements become much more difficult to induce. At the same time, the applied voltage is distributed across two wraps. This reduces the field forces and, consequently, the mechanical excitation of each individual structure is reduced — a central reason why the Supreme wrapping technology reduces macro-microphony so effectively. Even under high energy levels and strong pulses, the capacitor remains mechanically stable and thus does not itself act as an additional source of sound distortion.

The Supreme technology is therefore both a decisive measure for mechanical calming and a central measure for optimizing electrical properties such as residual inductance and rise time. It is one of the basic ideas that shape the character of the Supreme family: peace without inertia — and precision without harshness.

Tonal effects

• The playback remains extremely quiet even with very large amounts of energy; the capacitor is mechanically almost silent.
• Fast transients, attacks, small rhythmic subtleties and micro-accents are transmitted precisely and without gaps — nothing smudged or delayed.
• Microstructures in the music scene — the subtle pulsation in the overtone spectrum, quiet background, bow movements — are clearly audible without the sound having a clinical effect.
• The overall picture is a large, relaxed stage with high fine detail resolution — like a very good concert hall seat.
