Round Wire

Round wire coils are the tried and tested standard design: A solid conductor is formed into a winding and provides an easily calculable inductance. In terms of sound, DC resistance (R_DC) is decisive here because it directly influences efficiency and control — especially in the bass range.

Depending on the wire cross-section and application, the skin effect also plays a role. The mechanical design is also crucial: A loosely wound round-wire coil can move under load and compromise stability. Our round-wire coils are therefore optimized for a tight winding and secured with damping to ensure they remain mechanically stable. When properly sized, round wire is thus a very powerful allround solution.
