A Cologne Man with a lot of wit
Within a speaker combination crossovers are of great significance - both at home
and in cars. Since foundation in 1986 Raimund Mundorf has provided high quality components for crossovers.
Stoke of genius: Mundorf´s
"zero resistance coil".
Starting point was the home-made coil winding machine for manufactoring crossover
coils. Through a first fair appearance and following press reports about
the "zero resistance coil" Mundorf has become well-known - both
in the self made loudspeaker and in the industry area.
Since then the name Mundorf has been standing for technical precision and innovative products.
Vacuum soaking of coils for improving quality followed as the next trick as well
as new capacitors. The most well-known of these is the mcap-supreme:
Its special winding technic differs clearly from conventional capacities and provides
a particularly loss-free and fast processing of the music signal.
Silver foils coils
The last trick was again initiated with a home-made winding machine. But in this case
the machine processes copper and silver foils for manufactoring foil spools
specially distinguished for vibration and distortion freedom.
Further new developments are already coming up to test series and will soon be introduced to the
public.
Circuit board production
An own circuit board production, measuring computer for controlling qualtity as well
as further high quality accessories, such as solid copper terminals and
home-made curcuit board clamps complete the program and provide the possibility
to supply complete crossovers to the industry.
Industry customers
Next to industry customers like Burmester, MBL, Symphonic Line, Consequence Audio, Sonus
Faber, HGP and many other well-known companies the Cologne company supplies
importers worldwide with high-quality components. Ambitious hobbyists
also purchase Mundorf`s products from speacialist shops.
Capacitors also in amplifiers electronics
Mundorf´s capacitors are even inserted in all kind of amplifiers. So it is not surprising
that mcap capacitors are found in amplifiers (mcap-zn) as well as in tube
main amplifiers (mcap-supreme).
Legendary 12V power supplies
Power supplies for presentation of car audio components are another important area of
Mundorf´s product range. In 1988 these gadgets arose on Nakamichi´s
and Alpine`s enquiry. Today gadgets with output currents of 10 to 300
amps are available. The optimal adaptation to its application purpose,
extreme reliability and its favouralbe price/benefit relationship make
this gadgets to be a real hit.
About three quarters
of the Car+Sound 2002 in Sinsheim exhibitors might have demonstrated their
products with Mundorf`s power supplies. Worldwide approximately 1,500
power supplies are produced by Mundorf being used for car audio performance.
Car hifi accessories
The third area
of Mundorf´s company deals with high quality car audio accessories.
It contains high capacity electrolyte capacitors for buffering the vehicle
electricity, a temperature depending fan control with temperature indication
and further accessories. Mundorf, of course, also offers crossovers on
high standard as well as sound tuning crossovers for cars.
